Coach Profile: Nicky Price

Get to know Nicky, one of our valued coaches at CrossFit Wrexham.

Why did you decide to become a coach at CrossFit Wrexham?

I started at CrossFit Wrexham in 2018 after I was introduced to it by a coach. I'd done very little in the way of fitness due to having renal failure for many years, from being on dialysis for six years to having a kidney transplant in 2006 .

CrossFit in short changed my life, both physically and mentally; physically as I feel fitter now than I ever have, and mentally as I’ve met people in the community whom are now some of my closest friends.

My reasons for embarking on becoming a coach all stem from the support and belief from the coaches I received when I started. I'd love to try and be a part of making that happen for others.

What are your goals as a coach?

I get a huge buzz from seeing members achieve things they never thought they could do.

What is your favourite CrossFit workout?

My absolute favourite benchmark WOD is Grace, short and sharp, and I love a Clean & Jerk, and the pressure to shave a few seconds off if you can.

For Time

30 Clean-and-Jerks (135/95 lb)

What are your training goals for 2025?

I'm hoping to focus more on my gymnastics this year and finally string some big sets of Pull Ups and TTB together.

What are your favourite things to do outside the gym?

Outside of the gym I like nothing better than making memories with my family and friends; whether that be meals out or great holidays together.
