28 day Nutrition & lifestyle challenge

WHAT is it?

A 28 day challenge nutrition and lifestyle challenge to help you kick off 2024 right! It’s designed to reward positive lifestyle habits and nutrition choices, supported by a series of talks and workshops over a 4-week period.

A solid approach to nutrition, supported by healthy lifestyle choices makes a huge difference to what you can achieve with your training. Aids recovery, helps build muscle, reduces chance of injury, improves sleep quality…the list goes on!

When does it start?

To kick things off we are hosting a talk designed to prepare you for the challenge on Thursday 11th January at 7:30pm. But the challenge itself will start Monday 15th January and continue for 28 days. 

How does the challenge work?

It’s a positive challenge, rather than a restrictive challenge.

You can earn points for doing the following each day / week:

  • Drinking 2-3 litre of water per day

  • Only drinking caffeine before 1pm

  • Eating a variety of vegetables

  • Eating a variety of protein sources

  • Snacking on protein & fibre snacks

  • Eating a home cooked main meal

  • Getting more sleeping

  • Taking more steps

  • Attending Class / Playing Sport / doing an active recovery activity

  • Working on your mobility

  • Eating no sugar / junk food

To share useful knowledge and tools for long term success, we will be hosting a series of talks and workshops too.

They will be on Thursday nights, 19:30 - 20:30 at the gym. You can book them via Wodboard now:

  • 11th Jan - Kick Off Nutrition Talk - hosted by Chrissy & Sian

  • 18th Jan - Mobility Workshop - hosted by Stace

  • 25th Jan - Programming & Recovery Workshop - hosted by John

  • 1st Feb - Intuitive Eating Vs Macros Talk - hosted by Sian

  • 8th Feb - End of Challenge WOD - Hosted by John & Stace

How will we capture scores?

You will enter the points you’ve collected each day into a Google Sheet Tracker* which will pull your overall score into a leader board. You are responsible for doing this - we won’t chase you.

But we will be hosting talks and workshops on nutrition, mobility, programming & recovery to support you in succeeding and keep you on track, plus arm you with the knowledge and tools to make long term, positive and sustainable changes to your nutrition and lifestyle.

*There is an element of trust here, that no one will sabotage each other’s scores. 

Will there be prizes?

Maybe!

But the real reward will be the positive effects on your health, recovery, body, and mind, not to mention it will help prepare you and focus you for the upcoming CrossFit Open! 

How much does it cost?

If you sign up to The CrossFit Open you can join the challenge for FREE. 

If you don’t up to The CrossFit Open it will be £15 to take part. 

You will either need to send your confirmation email with a request to join the challenge to hello@crossfitwrexham.com or bring £15 to register.

who is invited to take part?

Everyone.

It is focused on mindful and intuitive eating, so macro counting isn’t a requirement, but healthy and nutrient dense choices are rewarded.

You will learn about the nutrition and positive lifestyle habits that will support your performance in the gym, body composition goals and overall long term health. 

How to register to take part?

Book a place on the kick off talk on Thursday 11th January at 7:30pm via Wodboard. It’s FREE.

On the night you will need to show either confirmation of entry into The CrossFit Open or bring £15 cash to take part in The Challenge. It’s that simple.
